The Intro

I have been told for years to start a blog. I never thought I would start my first blog after purchasing a flight to Syria. I am not Syrian. I am not Muslim. I am a human being and I believe in the human race. I believe in the FREEDOM of the human race. I believe in helping others no matter race, culture or religious belief. I believe in love and peace.

You are here because you either believe in the same or you believe in ME. Either way, I appreciate your support. I appreciate you taking the time to read, educate yourself and help save AT LEAST one life. To date, over 900,000 Syrians have been killed and ARE being killed as you read this right now. I won’t get into the unpleasant details on how they are dying because what matters most is that they ARE dying. Millions of Syrians have been displaced from their homes and many have escaped to neighboring countries seeking a safe haven. They did not have time to pack anything. All they have is the clothes on their back and who ever is left of their families.  Most have lost a few family members, if not ALL. They are living in parking lot sized studios, sleeping on bare cement floors and are in need of blankets, food, medical assistance and anything else you can possibly imagine. They are in a foreign country meaning they do not speak the official language, therefore can not work to make money to feed themselves and survive.   There are also many who are still inside, unable to escape due to financial issues.  They are without work as well and do not have the means to provide for themselves or their family members. They are living minute to minute, while bombs, rockets and missiles surround them and wait….

Fortunately I have had the blessing to visit this country on two separate trips.  My first trip was in March 2013 and I snuck into Syria from the Turkish border with Nesrin, my travel companion and friend.  We individually fundraised money and combined our total funds to provide direct aid to the Syrian people.  Please refer to the “My Blog” tab and read blogs “Day One” and Day Two” for further details of that trip.

On my second trip to Syria in June, I traveled alone though I did have my contacts (now my dear friends) from my first trip awaiting my arrival.  I had the opportunity to interact with the Syrian refugees personally as I had more time and of course, provide direct aid to them.  I was able to give a few English lessons to the Syrian children and play in the nearby fields.  Again for further details of my second trip into Syria, please refer to the “My Blog” tab and begin reading the “Reunite, Familiarize and Provide” blog post and work your way up the list.  As I promised, every single penny donated to my humanitarian efforts was given to these war-ridden individuals… and the donations I continue to receive will be given to them in my future trips.  The donations do not support purchase of flight or any other travel expenses.

Thanks to all the support I have received in my recent endeavors, I have started my own non-profit organization and am blessed to say I will commit my life in helping the lives of others globally.  I hope that you all will continue this journey alongside me and spread the word of my work and dreams of creating one human race.
